Rutger Hauer

Rutger Hauer passed away July 19, 2019 at the age of 75.  He was one of my favorite actors, starring in some of my favorite films.  I wanted to spend some time talking about what Rutger meant to me, along with couple of these films... Split Second, Blood of Heroes, and Omega Doom.  The man was truly larger than life and made a huge impact on me as a teenager in the 80's.

Rest in peace, Mr. Hauer.

Twenty Questions

We're seven episodes in and I realized that I never did an "intro" episode.  I thought about just sitting down and telling you all about me and what I'm doing, but that would be boring...cuz I ain't the most exciting guy.

So... I took it to the twitters, and a fella (@Mark_Cordory) suggested that I do something akin to reddit's AMA thing.

So here we are... twenty questions asked by the coolest cats out there.

* Intro/Outro music by me.

J.J. Shurte

Welcome to episode 005 of From the Wastes.  I chat with J.J. Shurte, author and writer of Days Too Dark, a post-apocalyptic tale of a future Australia that has literally been turned upside down.  We talk about his book as well as PA video games, movies, and television shows.  I keep bringing up Mad Max, so there's quite a bit of that as well.  JJ talks about a new book project he's publishing soon that might well change the face of PA fiction, offering writers an amazing resource.

J.J.'s blog can be found at and he's fond of posting on Twitter, @JJShurte.  His book, Days Too Dark, can be found on Amazon.

Arthur Walker

Episode 004 of From the Wastes...  it was my honor to talk to Arthur H. Walker, creator of the science fiction/dystopian/biopunk series, the Uroboros Saga.  His books quickly became some of my favorites among the indieauthor world.

Arthur is also involved in the gamedev arena, poking pixels into proper shapes, and crafting user experiences for games on mobile platforms.  He's particulary keen on Lenovo machines and Ubuntu languages.

Arthur can be found on Twitter @ArthurHWalker and on Tumblr,
